How To Treat Oily Hair

Some people tend to have an excess production of natural oils that distribute from the scalp to their hair. This excessive distribution of oils can weigh the hair down, giving it no volume and no life it needs for styling purposes. Further more, hair products that either add oil or promote oil production in the scalp can also create a factor if used excessively. If you are one of these people going through the frustrating moments of dealing with oily hair, here are some tips to helping you against this issue so that your hair can have life in order to style freely.

Shampoo your hair frequently- If you heavily produce natural oils, you will need to shampoo your hair more often than others. Use a shampoo that doesn’t have a lot of detergent inside but one that’s gentle so that your hair can still remain moist. In the event that your shampoo isn’t lathering into your hair correctly, it’s because the oils in your hair are preventing that. So you may need to shampoo twice in a row so that the second time it lathers better. Shampoo hair daily if you need to. For better results, work the shampoo through the scalp first, massaging the scalp when applying the shampoo.

Help slow down oil production- In addition to shampooing hair, you want to use warm water during this process. Then when it’s time to rinse your hair, use cold water, which will close the pores in the scalp to slow oil production.

Using Conditioners and Hair Products- You want to stay away from deep conditioning agents as well as oil based products (olive and coconut oil are examples). These products just add more oil to weigh hair down. You’ll need to use other hair products that still contain vitamins and nutrients your hair can absorb.  When using conditioner, apply small amounts when doing so.

Brushing your hair- Make sure that you brush your hair when it’s dry, and don’t brush too often, as this can increase the flow of oils throughout your hair. Brush from the ends to the scalp, distributing oils throughout your hair and scalp.

Keep styling tools clean- Make sure you clean your brush, flat iron, and curling iron after every use. This will help remove the hairspray and hair product build up in your styling tools so that they don’t get into your hair when used again.

How to Blowout Your Hair

Looking to add some more volume into your hair with a good blowout but don’t want to go to a salon to do so? Fret not, as here’s some tips in order for you to do it on your own. Just as long as you have the right equipment and the right technique, you can get the volume and smoothness your hair needs and deserves.

First off, here’s a list of all the things that you need in order to get started:

  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Boar bristle brush (natural bristles)
  • Round brush
  • Hair clips
  • Heat-protective styling product
  • Wide tooth comb
  • Blow dryer
  • Towel

So given that you need these tools and products, guess what you need to do first? Yes you guessed it, you need to thoroughly shampoo and condition your hair to ensure it’s clean and well rejuvenated prior to blowing it out. With your hair wet, you need to now remove that excessive water in your hair with the towel. Use it to squeeze the water out, never rub your hair with the towel.

With your hair all nice and clean, it’s time to apply the heat protective styling product in your hair. Applying it in hair evenly and use the wide tooth comb to run the product through the roots to the ends of your hair. Again make sure it’s distributed through your hair evenly. Make sure as you’re combing the product through your hair, that you’re also working to remove any tangles in your hair that can hinder the blowout process.

Once that is done, it’s time to divide your hair into different sections. Using the hairclips, divide your hair into three different sections vertically. Gently twist and coil hair before applying the hair clips on. Once that is done, It’s time to use the blow dryer. Have it set to low heat and high airflow. Have the blow dryer moving in crown down motion, working from the roots, and use the brush to gently separate the hairs. Keep them both on consistent motion with each other through each section until the hair is mostly dry.

Afterwards, set the heat to high with low airflow, and use the round brush to pull the hair taut as the blow dryer is directed towards the length of the shaft. Make sure you keep the nozzle of the brush downward when running through your hair and follow the brush with the dryer. For better tension, you can use a brush with natural fibers bristles to help pull the hair taut. For the best volume, use the round brush to pull the hair taut as you direct the heat toward the hair. With hair warm, it’s time to set the blow dryer to cold in order to cool hair off. This will keep the hair from falling back onto the scalp and create volume. Follow this step for all sections of your hair until hair is completely dry and you have the fullness you want. Afterwards, all you need to do is spray your hair with some hair spray and you’re free to style as desired.

Hairstyling Tips: Making Hair Manageable for Styling

There are many techniques and ways to get hair looking good, depending on the particular hairstyle you want, the type of waves you want, and having your hair at the right length to achieve wonderful hair results. A lot of how you get your hair consistently looking wonderful has to do with your consistently in going by a daily hair care routine. Here is some information you should know on your journey of keeping your hair manageable so that it’ll cooperate when it’s time to style.

Know the difference between brushing and combing- Brushing hair has gotten increasingly popular, with many brushes on the market, and the boar bristle brush plus natural brushes increasingly helping consumers brush hair efficiently. However, keep in mind that combing hair is also still beneficial for hair. To know the differences, combing hair, being that there is a single row of tines on them, help separate and create small clusters of strands on hair. Brushing hair however, has several bristles that separate hair into several hundred strands. Though brush can tangle and smoothen hair faster, it can also create more stress on the hair, especially if you brush too often.

Work to remove tangles from your hair- There are a few ways to keep tangles and knots from occurring from the hair. For one, whenever hair is wet, try using your fingers first to run through hair, and to remove as many tangles with your fingers as you can, and then use a comb or brush to remove the rest. Before going to bed, be sure to brush hair to remove tangles, again using a boar bristle brush to accomplish that, or a wide tooth comb if you have very long hair. Make sure you gently brush or comb hair, and work from the ends to the scalp. You can also use a brush to remove tangles from wet hair, but be sure you use a brush with wide separated tines for the job.

Keep the blood flow and natural oils flowing- Remember that brushing hair with a natural bristle brush will help increase the flow of natural oils from the follicles and from the scalp. In edition, brushing helps promote efficient blood flow through the scalp as well as helps with oil production. So through proper brushing, your hair can stay healthy an manageable since oils are keeping hair smooth.

Tips on Making Hairstyling Successful

Hairstyles are very phenomenal. They can really bring out the beautiful you. Hairstyles can help tell others of who you are as a person, from your personality to your own personal tastes. But mainly we want the ideal hairstyle to make us look great whenever out in the open. Having the right hairstyle first means you do the small things to take care of your hair first, so that styling hair can be made easier and more effectively.

Make sure hair is washed and conditioned- You want to especially do this if you have very oily hair. Shampooing is important to remove the excess oils out of your hair. But make sure you keep hair clean and with enough moisture so that hair won’t take a beating when styling it. Just make sure your shampoo and conditioner has ingredients like vitamin E, vitamin B, or green tea. Refrain from using chemical based shampoos and conditioners

Always use some type of hair protective product- You want to always apply some type of product in your hair that provides UV radiation protection and heat damage protection. Argan oil is good for protecting hair, or you can use a hair spray, mousse or foam. Apply this into your hair and use a comb to evenly comb the product through from the roots to the ends of your hair

Brush hair when it’s necessary- Don’t be afraid to use that brush when you need to. Brushing hair will help keep hair manageable, thus keeping tangles and knots from occurring frequently. This also allows moisture to get to the ends of your hair if you brush from the roots to the ends of your hair. Use a boar bristle brush for good results. Just don’t brush too hard otherwise breakage can occur. Also you’re better off using a comb if you have thick, fragile hair

Set the temperate of hairstyling equipment properly- Remember that curling irons, flat irons, and blow dryers can damage your hair easily if you don’t use them properly. Using them with extremely high heat or using them too long is a sure fire way to burn your hair out. That said, when using them you want to set the temperature to low heat and evenly separate hair by sections so you can style hair with organized fashion (use hair clips to pin hair down if necessary). Also, you may want to invest in good hairstyling equipment that allows you to control the heat effectively. For instance, there are blow dryers with cool down buttons that lower the heat that’s being dispersed. Also, ceramic and ionic flat irons are popular as they help to remove frizz from hair and don’t fry hair is easily

Macadamia Oil: How It Greatly Benefits Hair

Having a product that’s nearly perfect and versatile is hard to come by. However, macadamia oil is one of those products that graces this status. This type of rich oil comes from the macadamia plant. This plant was first founded in Australia, but now these plants are being grown out in Hawaii. The macadamia plants help grow macadamia seeds, and it’s these seeds that produce the rich nutrient oriented oil that the hair craves for.

So what makes this oil so abundant compared to other oils. First off, macadamia oil is highly nutritious, which contains great sources of calcium, vitamin B complex, vitamin E, proteins, phosphorus and iron and contains 80 percent mono saturated fat. It also contains a very high amount of Palmitoleic acid (an omega 7 fatty acid). Palmitoleic acid is what helps skin stay young looking. But being that this oil is non-greasy and lightweight, it absorbs into the hair easily. This is a great benefit for you, as it’s better to have a product that can absorb into your hair fast instead of it causing build up or residue.

So being that macadamia oil is highly rich with the vitamins and nutrients mentioned, how exactly does your hair benefit from the use of it? Well for one, the highly concentrated mono-unsaturated fats in the oil helps protect the hair and scalp from damage. The high absorption and deep penetration of the hair and scalp means both obtain the proper moisture they need to stay healthy. The vitamin E contained in the macadamia oil helps hair to soften and rejuvenate. Even thick, coarse hair is able to soften up. The proteins help to strengthen and promote healthy hair. Macadamia oil eliminates frizzy hair, detangles hair to make it more manageable, adds shine to the hair, replenishes hair from damage, provides UV radiation protection, and leaves hair silky and smooth.

Macadamia oil, compared to other oils like flaxseed, coconut oil, sunflower, and olive, is the premium oil in comparison. This and argan oils are the best oils of choice for your hair. The only downside to this oil is for those who are sensitive to natural products and ingredients, and are maybe allergic to macadamia seeds or oil. Otherwise, macadamia oil should be one of the primary products you add in your collection to use during your daily hair care routine. Your hair will experience wonderful results.

Fashion is a unique and exciting industry that continues to evolve. It’s a industry that many people with the passion of fashion design want to break ground and hope their innovative designs catch the public eye in a positive manner. Grace Sims maybe one of the many out there, but she’s looking to beat the odds. With a wealthy list of partners ranging from hairdressers, make up artist, photographers, and models, she’s got the relationship building thing down, as well as the innovative fashion clothing that will diversify and evolve in time.

Grace was born and raised in the fashion oriented city Los Angeles, CA. Works of art was embedded in her DNA at a young age  and she was fueled to operate a fashion business and make it grow with her creative and savvy mind. However, relocating to Sacramento, CA met being surrounded by the fashionable attraction she loved was tremendously diminished. So it was decision making time, major in chemistry and physics while pursuing a career working in a laboratory, or going back to her first love, fashion. She chose the latter, and that’s how her company Amore Grace was born.

With a frequency of promotions, fashion events and photo shoots to implement, she’s the ultimate punk rock glamour girl well on her way of accomplishing her dreams. Sheldon Alexander, Marketing Director of Heavenly Essence, Inc. recently contacted Grace for her to share her plans for her company, how she weeds out the people to find the unrelenting talent to work with, how she plans to beat the odds to show how her fashion line is unique, and how hair care is a integral part of fashion.

Sheldon Alexander: How has your fashion business been going since I last interviewed you?

Grace Sims: Everything has been going well. I changed the name of my company for branding and marketing purposes. I been promoting myself as a business and treating fashion more like a business so people take me more seriously. I’m doing a t-shirt line, a doggy ready to wear line, and a fashion accessory line.

SA: What’s your main goal for the doggy line?

GS: To have a wide arsenal of dog fashion wear and accessories that attracts clients who have dogs. I love dogs as well and so I like to create a line for them.

SA: What do you plan to do differently in the year 2011 to make your business progress?

GS: I will offer more products for the mass market, and then I will expand to more products by the end of the year to target the same clientele I currently have. I will offer more styles to a wider market. I’m getting into the music industry as well, and linked up with a singer in the Seattle area. Her name is Sunny and she has a band.

SA: What kind of events are you planning to promote or sponsor this year?

GS: Future events will be made available on my Facebook page.

SA: What are the purposes of these events?

GS: To pick up more clientele, to brand myself better, market and promote. I want more people to find out about Amore Grace.

SA: How are you setting yourself apart from other fashion designers?

GS: I am treating myself as an actual company and not as a fashion designer. Most fashion designers treat themselves as one person who does services. Larger companies don’t take them serious as a result.

SA: What marketing methods are you now using to promote your business?

GS: I’m coming out with a catalog in paper as well as online. Aside from social media, I revamped my website, and will be looking to connect with boutiques across the nation to see about getting my products into their stores. The social media and blogging websites are the main source of my marketing. I formed many valuable connections from there alone.

SA: Are you currently working with make up artists and hairdressers?

GS: Yes.

SA: How is it like working with make up artists and hairdressers?

GS: It’s a learning experience. Everyone is different and so I work with the ones that pay attention, follow directions and are fun to work with. I work with people who are serious about making my events a great experience. If they don’t pay attention and come out as non serious, then I won’t work with them again.

SA: How are you looking to make sure you find and work with the right people?

GS: Through trial and error and networking. I’ll be networking all across the board. I usually check out someone’s portfolio through a meet and greet in person. That is the point where I find out if they are worth working with or not. It saves a lot of headaches and time.

SA: How does fashion and hair care go hand in hand?

GS: Well in order to have good pictures you have to have good hair. In most of the the things we do we need to make sure the models have good hair, like the runways. It keeps business intertwined. In fashion it’s about presentation, and if good hair is essential in order to keep people happy along with the fashion clothing then I’ll make sure they have good hair.

SA: What are some hair care methods you’re using yourself?

GS: I make sure I wash my hair with good products. I don’t fry my hair like most people do. I use bumble and bumble and biosilk. They’re really good products. I use permanent hair color and get my hair done from a Aveza certified salon, which are the only places that offer the right color based products for me being that I’m sensitive to a lot of what’s out there. They’re about being organic, and using plants and healthy ingredients for hair coloring. I’m allergic to a lot of products and so this product works for me.

SA: Anything else that you would like to share?

GS: Not really. I’m just shooting for the stars for this 2011 year and am expecting the best results.
